Heat dissipation efficiency: With high power density, it is necessary to design an efficient cooling air path or water-cooled jacket. The flow channel design of the water-cooled base and anti-corrosion and anti-scaling measures are crucial.

Alignment and installation stability: As the base of the entire drive chain, the stiffness and machining accuracy of its feet directly affect the alignment with the load equipment, preventing bearing damage caused by deformation.

Special environment adaptation: Such as explosion-proof (Ex d/e), marine (marine certification), plateau environment, etc., with special requirements for structural strength and airtightness.

Is the frame and end cover of an electric motor merely a "shell"? What is its core function?

It's definitely not just a shell. It is a core bearing and functional component of the motor, with main functions including:

Structural load-bearing: It supports the stator core and rotor bearings, and withstands the huge electromagnetic force of the motor itself, the weight of the rotor, and the external loads transmitted (such as wind turbine torque and gear box reaction force).

Precision Assurance: Provide and maintain high precision in critical areas such as the bearing housing and mating surfaces, ensuring uniform air gaps between the stator and rotor. This is the foundation for the motor's efficient and stable operation.

Heat management: As the main heat dissipation surface, it exports the internal heat through rib plate design and coordination with the cooling system.

Environmental protection: Protect the internal windings, bearings and other precision components, dust-proof, moisture-proof and foreign object-proof (for wind power and outdoor high-voltage motors, sealing is of vital importance).
